Surf Lessons in Pantaleria is a guided surfing programme on the black-sand beaches of Pantelleria, Sicily. Lessons run for two hours with a certified instructor who provides all boards, wetsuits, and safety briefings. The island's consistent autumn swells and shallow reef breaks suit beginners and intermediate surfers alike.
What to expect
- Two-hour session includes a land-based technique drill followed by 90 minutes in the water
- All equipment provided: soft-top surfboard, 4/3mm wetsuit, and leash sized to your height
- Small group size capped at six participants, with one instructor in the water at all times
- Session starts at the Cala Levante beach break, where waves break over sand rather than rock
- Suitable for ages 12 and up; non-swimmers are not accepted, but basic swimming is the only prerequisite
- Post-lesson feedback includes a video review of your paddling and pop-up technique on the shore
