Child Safety Standards

Version 1 · Last updated 1 October 2026

1. Zero tolerance

IslandSpots has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). Content that sexualises minors in any form — images, video, text, links, requests, or implied material — is prohibited on IslandSpots and is removed without notice.

There is no acceptable context for CSAE on this platform: not artistic, educational, documentary, or newsworthy framing, and not a claim that the material was obtained from somewhere else.

2. Prohibited conduct

The following are prohibited, and each is grounds for immediate account termination:

  • Sexualised depictions of minors in any medium.
  • Grooming, solicitation, or any attempt to contact a minor for a sexual purpose.
  • Sexual extortion or blackmail involving a minor.
  • Requests for, offers of, or links to CSAE material.
  • Content that sexualises minors indirectly, including sexualised commentary on a post depicting a minor.

3. Age requirement

IslandSpots is for users aged 17 and over. Accounts we identify as belonging to a minor are terminated and the associated content removed.

4. How to report

Every post, reel and profile on IslandSpots can be reported from inside the app. The report sheet offers a dedicated **Child safety** reason, which routes the report to the top of our moderation queue.

You can also report directly to childsafety@islandspots.io, and you may report to the authorities at the same time — you do not need to wait for us, and you do not need our permission.

5. What we do with a report

When we receive a credible report of CSAE we act on it promptly. We remove the content, terminate the account, and block re-registration on the same identifiers.

Where we have reasonable grounds to believe a child is in immediate danger, we act first and investigate afterwards.

We preserve the relevant records for the purpose of reporting to the authorities and cooperating with law enforcement, and we do that instead of deleting the evidence. We do not notify the user who posted the content before we act.

6. Reporting to the authorities

We report apparent CSAM to the competent authorities as required by applicable law, including the Spanish National Police (Policía Nacional) and Civil Guard (Guardia Civil), and to the relevant regional and national authorities in the countries where we operate.

We also file reports with the international hotline network for the country concerned through INHOPE, and with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where we have the required connection to the reporting infrastructure.

IslandSpots cooperates fully with law enforcement and with national and regional authorities investigating CSAE, including responding to lawful requests for information and preserving records where we are required to do so.

7. Safety measures

IslandSpots combines automated checks with user reporting. Every post carries a Report option, our team reviews reports, and reports filed under the Child safety reason are prioritised.

We keep this page and our reporting mechanisms under review, and we update them as our platform and the applicable requirements change.

8. Contact

Our designated point of contact for child safety is childsafety@islandspots.io. This mailbox is monitored and is the correct address for users, platforms, hotlines and authorities to reach us about child safety.

We aim to acknowledge child-safety reports within 24 hours.
