Surf Lessons in Messina is a guided surf school activity on the northern coast of Sicily, based at the beaches of Capo Peloro. Certified instructors provide beginner and intermediate coaching in small groups, with all equipment included. Sessions run for two hours and are scheduled around daily wave and wind conditions.
What to expect
- Two-hour group lesson with a certified surf instructor, capped at six participants per session.
- All equipment provided: soft-top surfboard, wetsuit, and leash, sized to your height and weight.
- Warm-up and dry-land technique drills on the sand before entering the water at Capo Peloro's sandy break.
- In-water coaching focuses on paddling, pop-up, and riding whitewater waves, with video feedback on request.
- Suitable for first-timers and returning surfers; minimum age is 10 years, and non-swimmers are not accepted.
- Changing rooms and outdoor showers are available at the beachside base, with wetsuit rinsing after the lesson.
