Each festival reflects local traditions, from baroque cart parades in Catania to almond blossom celebrations in Agrigento.
What to expect

- The Saint Lucia Festival in Syracuse (13 December) includes a silver statue procession from the cathedral to the harbour, followed by a boat blessing and a free rice soup distribution
