About this experience

Coffee Shops in Ustica is a curated guide to the island's espresso bars and cafés, located across the main harbour village of Ustica, Sicily. The island's coffee culture centres on quick, standing counter service with a focus on Sicilian roasts and pastries. Most venues open early for breakfast and close by late afternoon, with a few staying open for evening aperitifs.

What to expect

Visit 5 to 8 independent bars along Via Colombo and the Piazza Umberto, each with its own house blend and granita recipe
Expect a standard espresso (caffè) to cost between 1.00 and 1.50 euros, served with a glass of water and often a small biscuit
Try the local almond granita with brioche, a common breakfast pairing available from 7:00 to 10:00 AM
Seating is mostly at the counter or on a few outdoor tables facing the harbour; indoor seating is limited to 4-6 stools per venue
Suitable for solo travellers and couples who want a quick caffeine stop between ferry arrival and diving trips, not for laptop work or long meetings
Many bars also sell takeaway coffee in paper cups for the 20-minute walk up to the lighthouse or the archaeological museum
