About this experience

Coffee Shops in Pantelleria is a curated circuit of the island's espresso bars and cafés, located across its main towns and coastal villages. These venues serve locally roasted coffee alongside traditional Sicilian pastries, often with views of the volcanic landscape. Each stop reflects the island's daily rhythm, from early-morning commuters to afternoon breaks.

What to expect

Visits typically last 30 to 60 minutes per café, with no fixed itinerary, allowing you to hop between three to five venues in a half-day.
Each café offers a standard espresso or cappuccino, with some featuring Pantelleria's capers or Zibibbo grapes in local pastries like cassatelle.
You will see working espresso machines, glass counters with almond-based sweets, and outdoor seating on piazzas in Pantelleria Town, Scauri, and Khamma.
Suitable for solo travellers, couples, and small groups who want a low-cost, flexible way to observe local social life without a guided tour.
Some venues double as tobacco shops or newsstands, so you can also buy bus tickets or local newspapers while sipping your coffee.
Expect standing-room-only at the bar during peak morning hours, with prices around 1 to 1.50 euros per espresso, cheaper than tourist-heavy Sicilian cities.
