Surf Lessons in Manoh Pier is a structured surf coaching activity located at Manoh Pier on Koh Yao Yai, a quiet island in Phang Nga Bay. The lessons run on the sandy beach adjacent to the pier, where gentle waves suit first-time surfers. Each session is led by a local instructor who provides board, leash, and safety briefing before entering the water.
What to expect
- Lessons last 90 minutes, including 15 minutes of land-based technique drills and 75 minutes in the water.
- All equipment is provided: soft-top surfboard, leash, and reef-safe sunscreen.
- You will practise paddling, popping up, and riding whitewater waves on a shallow, sandy bottom.
- Suitable for adults and children aged 8 and above who can swim 25 metres unaided.
- Group size is capped at six students per instructor, with a private option available for two people.
- The session ends with a video review of your rides, filmed from the pier, to correct your stance.
