Hotels & Resorts in Perhentian Besar is the collective accommodation sector on the larger of the Perhentian Islands, off Terengganu's coast. It includes beachfront chalets, eco-lodges, and dive resorts along the island's main bays. These properties provide direct access to coral reefs and jungle trails, with most operating seasonally from March to October.
What to expect
- Stay in a beachfront chalet on Long Beach or Coral Bay, with snorkelling gear rental available from the resort desk.
- Choose from budget fan rooms with shared bathrooms to air-conditioned sea-view suites with private verandas.
- Most resorts include a daily breakfast of local Malay dishes like nasi lemak and roti canai in the room rate.
- Dive packages typically include two boat dives per day, tanks, weights, and a dive master, with equipment rental extra.
- Resorts on the east coast face the sunrise and calm morning waters, while west coast properties offer sunset views and evening beach bars.
- The accommodation suits backpackers, divers, and families, with family rooms and children's menus available at larger resorts.
