Island kitchens make the most of the surrounding sea, with fresh fish, hand-rolled pasta, locally pressed olive oil and wines from island vineyards shaping the menu. Travellers reach Sicily by flights, ferries and hydrofoils from the mainland, and Italian is the language spoken throughout.
