Supermarkets & Groceries in Lampedusa

About this experience

What to expect

• Stores are typically open from 8:00 to 13:00 and 17:00 to 20:30, with shorter hours on Sundays and during the low season from October to May.
• Most outlets are walkable from the main ferry dock and Via Roma, with the largest selection at the two central supermarkets near Piazza Castello.
• Shelves include Sicilian staples such as capers from Pantelleria, dried oregano, olive oil, and canned tuna from local fisheries, alongside standard national brands.
• Fresh produce sections are small but restocked daily, offering tomatoes, lemons, and greens sourced from the mainland, as the island has no commercial farms.
• Cash is preferred for purchases under 10 euros, though major stores accept card payments; no delivery services are available.
• The shops suit self-catering travellers, boat crews stocking up for a week, and families needing baby food or nappies, but not those seeking organic or specialty items.
