Hiking Tours in Trapani is a guided walking activity based in the Sicilian coastal city of Trapani. The tours traverse the salt pans of the Riserva Naturale Saline di Trapani and the slopes of Monte Erice, offering direct views of the Egadi Islands. Each route is led by a local certified guide and lasts between three and five hours, with trail difficulty matched to the group's fitness level.
What to expect
- Guided hikes of 3 to 5 hours across the Saline di Trapani nature reserve and the medieval hilltop town of Erice
- Includes a local guide, trail map, and a packed snack of Sicilian bread, olives, and water
- Views of the salt pans' windmills, flamingos in season, and the Egadi Islands from Monte Erice's 750-metre summit
- Suitable for adults with moderate fitness; routes avoid steep scrambles and use well-marked dirt paths
- Small group size capped at 12 participants, with departures at 9:00 and 16:00 from Trapani's Piazza Vittorio Emanuele
- Ends with a tasting of local sea salt and a short walk through the historic centre's Spanish quarter
