What to expect
- Two-tank boat dives or 2-hour snorkeling tours depart daily from licensed centres in Catania, Taormina, and San Vito Lo Capo.
- Full scuba gear (BCD, regulator, wetsuit, weights, and dive computer) is included for certified divers; snorkelers receive mask, fins, and snorkel.
- Sites include the Isola Bella Marine Reserve, the Cyclops Islands' basalt cliffs, and the underwater volcanic fumaroles at Capo Passero.
- Dives reach depths of 5 to 30 metres, with visibility ranging from 15 to 25 metres depending on season and weather.
- Suitable for beginners (introductory dives available) and advanced divers; minimum age is 10 for snorkeling and 12 for scuba.
- Each excursion lasts 3 to 4 hours, including surface interval, safety briefing, and guided tour by a PADI or CMAS instructor.
