Surf Lessons in La Digue is a guided surfing programme on the island's south-east coast, offering instruction for all levels. The lessons take place at Anse Source d'Argent, where gentle waves and shallow water create a safe learning environment. Participants receive a board, a wetsuit, and a certified instructor for a two-hour session.
What to expect
- Two-hour lesson with a certified instructor, including all equipment (board, wetsuit, and reef shoes).
- Learn on the calm, turquoise waters of Anse Source d'Argent, with waves averaging 0.5 to 1 metre for beginners.
- Small group sizes (maximum 4 students per instructor) ensure personalised feedback on paddling, popping up, and turning.
- Suitable for first-timers and intermediate surfers; children aged 8 and above can join with parental consent.
- Each session ends with a video review of your technique, so you can see your progress and correct your stance.
- Lessons run daily at 9:00 and 14:00, with a 15-minute safety briefing on local currents and reef etiquette before entering the water.
