Camel Riding in Anse Lazio is a guided beach camel trek along the northern shore of Praslin, Seychelles. Riders mount trained camels and follow a 30-minute route across the white sand between granite boulders and the turquoise shallows. The activity operates daily from 9:00 to 17:00, with sessions departing every hour from the beach kiosk near the car park.
What to expect
- Ride a camel for 30 minutes along the 500-metre stretch of Anse Lazio, with the Indian Ocean on one side and takamaka trees on the other.
- Each session includes a safety briefing, a mounted guide leading the camel, and a photo stop at the large granite outcrop at the beach's eastern end.
- Suitable for first-time riders and children aged 6 and above; camels are saddled with padded seats and footrests, and helmets are provided for riders under 12.
- You will see the coral reef edge from a height of 2.5 metres, offering a clear view of the sandbar that appears at low tide.
- The ride ends with a short walk through the beach's shallow lagoon, where the camel wades in water up to its knees.
