About this experience

Camel Riding in Côte d'Or is a guided camel trek along the sandy shoreline of Côte d'Or beach on Praslin, Seychelles. The ride lasts approximately 30 minutes and follows a fixed route past granite boulders and the island's turquoise shallows. Each camel is led by a local handler, and the activity operates daily from the beachfront meeting point near the Côte d'Or jetty.

What to expect

  • Ride a trained camel for 30 minutes along the beach, with the handler walking beside the animal at all times
  • See the granite outcrops and coconut palms that line Côte d'Or bay from a raised vantage point
  • Includes a brief safety briefing and a step-by-step mounting and dismounting demonstration before the ride
  • Suitable for adults and children aged 5 and over, with a maximum weight limit of 100 kg per rider
  • Photo stops are included at two designated points, where the handler takes pictures with your own camera or phone
  • The route starts and ends at the same point, so no transport is needed if you are staying within walking distance of the beach
