Restaurants & Dining in Askeli is the collective dining scene along the coastal village of Askeli on Poros island, featuring tavernas and seafood restaurants lining the harbour. The offerings range from fresh grilled fish and octopus to traditional Greek meze, with most venues providing outdoor seating overlooking the Saronic Gulf. Diners can expect a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere with menus that change with the daily catch.
What to expect
- Most tavernas serve lunch and dinner from 12:00 to 23:00, with outdoor tables directly on the waterfront.
- Menus feature locally caught fish, grilled octopus, and classic dishes like moussaka and souvlaki, with prices averaging 15-25 euros per main course.
- Several restaurants offer a complimentary dessert or a small glass of raki after the meal, a common Greek hospitality gesture.
- The dining area is a 10-minute walk from the main Askeli beach, making it convenient for a post-swim meal.
- Vegetarian options include Greek salads, fava, and stuffed vine leaves, available at most establishments.
- The setting suits couples and families, with quieter tables available away from the main promenade for a more intimate meal.
