Diving & Snorkeling in Askeli is a guided underwater activity based at the coastal resort of Askeli on Poros Island. The session introduces participants to the nearshore marine environment of the Saronic Gulf, with calm, shallow waters suited to beginners. Local instructors lead groups to rocky reefs and seagrass beds where fish and octopus are commonly sighted.
What to expect
- Sessions last 2 hours, including a 15-minute safety briefing and 90 minutes in the water
- All snorkeling equipment (mask, snorkel, fins, and buoyancy aid) is provided at the dive centre
- Guests swim along a marked route from Askeli beach to a rocky outcrop at 3-5 metres depth
- The tour includes a stop at a seagrass meadow where juvenile damselfish and sea hares are visible
- Suitable for swimmers aged 8 and above; non-swimmers can use a floating ring with instructor support
- Underwater photography is permitted with a waterproof camera or phone case, and a dry bag is offered for valuables
