Camel Riding in Aliki is a guided camel trek along the sandy shoreline of Aliki, a fishing village on the southern coast of Paros. The activity operates daily from the beach near the old port, offering a slow-paced ride suitable for families and first-time riders. Each session includes a safety briefing and a handler walking beside the camel throughout the route.
What to expect
- Rides last 20 minutes and cover a 500-metre stretch of beach between the Aliki jetty and the Agios Nikolaos chapel.
- Each camel carries one rider at a time, with a maximum weight limit of 100 kilograms per person.
- The handler provides a short introduction to camel behaviour and local history of the animals on Paros before mounting.
- Children aged 4 to 12 ride tandem with an adult on a separate saddle, while older children ride solo.
- The route passes the salt marshes and offers views of the Antiparos channel and the neighbouring islet of Despotiko.
- Sessions run every hour from 10:00 to 18:00, with no booking required for walk-up participants during low season.
