About this experience

Diving & Snorkeling in Mabul Water Bungalows is a guided underwater activity based at the Mabul Water Bungalows resort on Mabul Island, off the coast of Sabah, Malaysian Borneo. The activity provides direct access to Mabul's coral reefs and the nearby Sipadan Island marine park, known for macro life and turtle sightings. Divers and snorkelers use the resort's house reef and boat departures to reach over 20 dive sites within a 15-minute ride.

What to expect

Guided boat dives depart daily at 8:30 AM, 11:00 AM, and 2:30 PM, with each dive lasting up to 45 minutes and a maximum depth of 30 metres.
Snorkeling sessions run twice daily from the resort's jetty, with a provided mask, snorkel, and fins included in the activity fee.
Sites include the Mabul House Reef, where you see frogfish, cuttlefish, and flamboyant cuttlefish at depths of 5 to 15 metres.
Optional day trips to Sipadan Island (permit required) offer chances to swim with green and hawksbill turtles, barracuda, and reef sharks at Barracuda Point.
All dive gear, weights, and tanks are supplied; a certified dive master accompanies every group of up to four divers.
Suitable for certified divers (Open Water or higher) and confident swimmers; a buoyancy control device is mandatory for all snorkelers.
