Restaurants & Dining in White Sand Beach is the primary culinary hub of Koh Chang, located along the island’s longest and most developed stretch of sand. This beachfront area offers a mix of Thai seafood shacks, international grill houses, and casual bars, all within walking distance of the main road. Evening diners can eat with their feet in the sand while watching the sunset over the Gulf of Thailand.
What to expect
- Seafood is caught daily by local fishing boats and grilled over open charcoal fires at stalls like Nong Bua Seafood, with a whole fish costing around 300–400 baht.
- Most restaurants open from 11:00 to 22:00, and peak dining hours are 18:00–20:00; tables fill quickly on weekends and Thai holidays.
- Menus are bilingual (Thai and English) at nearly every venue, and many offer picture-based ordering for non-Thai speakers.
- Diners can choose between beachfront tables with direct sand access or air-conditioned indoor rooms; the former adds a 10% service charge at sit-down places.
- Vegetarian and vegan options are available at at least four dedicated spots, including the popular 'Koh Chang Vegetarian' which serves tofu-based Thai curries and stir-fries.
- Live acoustic music is performed nightly from 19:00 at three beach bars, including Sitaras Beach Resort’s open-air lounge, with no cover charge.
