Restaurants & Dining in Lonely Beach is the collective eating scene along the white-sand shore of Koh Chang's west coast. This strip of family-run Thai kitchens, beachfront bars, and casual seafood grills sits directly on the sand, with tables under thatched roofs and lanterns. Menus focus on fresh-caught fish, spicy papaya salad, and pad thai, served from late morning until midnight.
What to expect
- Most venues are open-air shacks with wooden tables set directly on the sand, 10 to 30 metres from the waterline
- A typical meal costs 80 to 250 baht for a main dish, with fresh whole fish priced by weight at 300 to 600 baht
- Diners can watch cooks flame-grill squid and prawns over charcoal braziers at the roadside edge of the beach
- Several bars offer sunset happy hours from 17:00 to 19:00, with buckets of local rum and coke for 200 baht
- Live acoustic guitar or reggae music plays at three or four venues on weekend evenings, starting around 20:00
- Vegetarian options appear on most menus, including fried morning glory, tofu pad thai, and mushroom green curry
