About this experience

Surf Lessons in Forio is a professional surf school located on the sandy beach of Citara in Forio, Ischia. The school provides certified instructors and all necessary equipment for beginners and intermediate surfers. Lessons are conducted in the calm Tyrrhenian Sea, with waves suitable for learning from spring to autumn.

What to expect

Each lesson lasts 2 hours, including a 30-minute land-based technique session and 90 minutes in the water.
All equipment is provided: soft-top surfboard, wetsuit, and leash, sized to your height and skill level.
Instructors hold ISA or Surfing Italy certifications and teach in small groups of maximum 6 students per coach.
You will practice paddling, pop-up, and wave riding on gentle beach breaks, with waves averaging 0.5 to 1.5 metres.
Suitable for ages 8 and up; non-swimmers can join with a personal flotation device and close instructor supervision.
Photos of your session are available for purchase from the school's photographer, who shoots from the shore.
