Caffe Calise is a historic coffee shop in Ischia Ponte, located directly on the harbourfront near the Aragonese Castle. It has served espresso and pastries since 1935, with a terrace overlooking the fishing boats. The menu includes Neapolitan sfogliatella and granita, alongside standard Italian coffee drinks.
What to expect
- Seating is available on the outdoor terrace with direct views of the Aragonese Castle and the harbour
- Espresso is brewed with a traditional Neapolitan lever machine, producing a thick crema
- Fresh sfogliatella and baba are delivered daily from a local pastry kitchen in the morning
- A single espresso costs €1.20, and a cappuccino with pastry costs €3.50
- The indoor room has marble tables and vintage 1950s ceramic tiles, with no music playing
- Service is counter-order only; you pay first, then collect your drink at the bar or take it outside
