Surf Lessons in Kamini is a guided surfing programme on the pebble beach of Kamini village on Hydra island. The lessons take place in the calm, shallow waters of the bay, which are suited to beginners and intermediate surfers. Each session is led by a local instructor who provides all necessary equipment and safety guidance.
What to expect
- Each lesson lasts 90 minutes and includes a wetsuit, soft-top surfboard, and leash.
- The instructor begins with a 15-minute land-based tutorial on paddling, popping up, and board control before entering the water.
- You will practise catching small, rolling waves directly off Kamini's pebble shore, with the instructor in the water beside you.
- Sessions are limited to four participants, ensuring individual feedback on stance and balance.
- Suitable for ages 12 and up; non-swimmers can use a provided flotation belt for safety.
- The lesson ends with a 10-minute video review of your technique, filmed from the beach, to take home.
