Wine Tasting in Gran Canaria is a guided tour of the island's volcanic vineyards, located in the traditional wine regions of Monte Lentiscal and the Bandama crater. Participants sample five local wines, including the signature Listán Blanco and Negramoll varieties, paired with artisan cheeses and mojo sauce. The activity runs for two hours and is led by a sommelier who explains the island's unique terroir and winemaking history.
What to expect
- Two-hour session with a certified sommelier at a family-run bodega in the Bandama volcanic crater.
- Tasting flight of five wines: three whites, one red, and one rosé, all made from grapes grown in volcanic soil.
- Includes a paired platter of local cheeses, gofio bread, and two types of mojo sauce.
- Guided walk through the vineyard rows to see the low-trained vines and the traditional stone-walled 'gavias' irrigation system.
- Suitable for adults aged 18 and over; no prior wine knowledge is required, and the tour is conducted in English and Spanish.
