Coffee Shops in Gran Canaria is a self-guided tour of the island's specialty coffee scene, based in Gran Canaria's towns and coastal promenades. It connects visitors with local roasteries, barista-run cafes, and traditional guachinches that serve coffee with Canarian pastries. The route covers both Las Palmas capital and inland villages, offering a taste of the island's volcanic-soil-grown beans.
What to expect
- The tour includes a printed map with 12 verified coffee stops, each marked with opening hours and a signature drink to order.
- At each stop, you receive a 50-millilitre tasting cup of the house blend, plus a small sweet bite such as a bienmesabe tart or almond cookie.
- You will see a working espresso machine and a manual pour-over bar at three participating roasteries, with baristas explaining the roast profile.
- The route takes 3 to 4 hours on foot or by local bus, and suits solo travellers, couples, or small groups who want a structured cafe crawl.
- Two stops offer a coffee-and-brunch pairing option, including a local cheese plate and a guava juice, for an additional 4 euros.
- The tour ends at a seaside cafe in Las Canteras, where you can sit with your final cup and watch the surfers.
