Coffee Shops in Dominica is a curated tour of the island's artisan coffee culture, based in Roseau and the surrounding valleys. It takes visitors to family-run roasteries and hillside cafes where beans are grown, roasted, and brewed on-site. The tour offers a direct taste of Dominica's volcanic soil and small-batch production methods.
What to expect
- Visit three working coffee farms in the Roseau Valley, each with a distinct roasting style and a 20-minute guided walk through the drying and milling process.
- Sample a flight of four single-origin Dominican brews, including a cold brew made from beans grown at 800 metres elevation.
- Watch a live barista demonstration of the traditional 'drip pot' method used in local households, then try it yourself.
- Includes a 90-minute session with a coffee sommelier who explains how the island's sulphur springs affect bean acidity.
- Suitable for small groups of up to eight people; the tour runs every Tuesday and Friday at 9:00 AM and ends with a take-home 250-gram bag of roasted beans.
