Surf Lessons in Betancuria is a guided surfing programme based in the inland town of Betancuria, Fuerteventura, with sessions held at nearby Atlantic beaches. The lessons are led by certified instructors who provide all necessary equipment and safety briefings. Participants learn wave selection, paddling techniques, and pop-up mechanics in small groups.
What to expect
- Two-hour group lesson at a beach within a 20-minute drive from Betancuria, with transport included from the town centre.
- All equipment provided: soft-top surfboard, wetsuit, leash, and wax, sized to each participant.
- Instruction covers beach safety, wave reading, and paddle technique, followed by supervised practice in waist-deep water.
- Suitable for beginners aged 8 and above; non-swimmers can participate with a buoyancy aid and instructor accompaniment.
- Maximum group size of 6 students per instructor, ensuring individual feedback on each ride.
- Post-session video analysis of your surfing attempts, with a digital copy sent to your email within 24 hours.
