Diving & Snorkeling in Padangbai is a guided underwater activity based in the coastal village of Padangbai, Bali, known as the launch point for the Nusa Islands. The dive sites include the coral-rich slopes of Blue Lagoon, the muck-diving macro life of Jepun, and the drift currents around Mimpang and Penida. Certified instructors lead trips from local shops, with equipment rental and boat transfers included in most packages.
What to expect
- Trips run daily from 8:00 to 15:00, with two-tank dives lasting 45–60 minutes per dive and snorkeling sessions of 90–120 minutes.
- Included in standard packages: full scuba gear (BCD, regulator, wetsuit, mask, fins), a certified dive guide, and boat transport to sites within 15 minutes of the shore.
- At Blue Lagoon, you see hard coral gardens, schools of batfish, and occasional reef sharks at depths of 5–18 metres.
- At Jepun, you spot pygmy seahorses, nudibranchs, and frogfish on black sand slopes at 10–25 metres, suited to macro photographers.
- Snorkelers stay in shallow protected bays with calm water, seeing clownfish, parrotfish, and sea turtles at 2–5 metres depth.
- The activity suits certified divers (Open Water or higher) and confident swimmers; non-divers can join snorkeling-only trips from the same boats.
