Villa 12
About
Villa 12 serves Zanzibar as an apartment at X9VM+WM3, Kiwengwa 73209, Tanzania, with a website at https://www.lionsvillaszanzibar.com/.
A 4.9 out of 5 average across 28 reviews places it among the island's best-regarded stays. Stone Town, Nungwi, Kendwa, Paje, Jambiani, Bwejuu, Kiwayu and Matemwe all sit within the island's road network, so the apartment is reachable from the main resorts and towns. Kiwengwa sits on the north-east coast, a stretch of the island where the Indian Ocean meets wide sandy shores and where sea breezes temper the tropical heat.
Taarab music, with orchestras and sung poetry, originated on the Swahili coast and remains popular on both islands, adding a soundtrack to a stay. The Zanzibar red colobus monkey is found only on Zanzibar, and the Pemba flying fox only on Pemba, so wildlife watching here is distinctive. Zanzibar and Pemba share a tropical climate, hot and humid throughout the year, with coastal breezes offering relief along the shore.
Zanzibar was once the seat of the Omani sultanate and a dhow-trade hub before uniting with Tanganyika in 1964 to form Tanzania, a history that still shapes Stone Town's lanes and the island's Swahili character.
