About this experience

Supermarkets & Groceries in De Koog is the collective term for the village's food shops, located on Texel's west coast near the beach. These stores supply daily essentials, fresh produce, and local Texel specialties for holidaymakers and residents alike. They provide a practical stop for self-catering stays and beach-day supplies.

What to expect

Find two full-service supermarkets (Albert Heijn and Jumbo) within 500 metres of the main beach entrance, open daily from 08:00 to 21:00.
Stock up on Texel lamb, local cheeses, and smoked eel from the deli counters, plus fresh bread baked on-site each morning.
Choose from a range of picnic items, cold drinks, and beach gear like windbreaks and buckets, all in one aisle.
Expect quick checkout with self-service tills and bag packing areas, suitable for families with prams and cyclists with panniers.
A weekly farmers' market sets up on Tuesdays in the village square, offering organic vegetables and homemade jams from April to October.
All shops accept debit and credit cards, and most provide free parking for up to 30 minutes for quick top-up shops.
