Wine Tasting in Dodong is a guided tasting session held in the fishing village of Dodong on Ulleungdo Island. Participants sample locally produced wines, including those made from the island's signature omija berries and wild grapes. The activity takes place in a small tasting room near the Dodong-ri port, with views of the East Sea.
What to expect
- Session lasts 60 minutes and includes five pours of Ulleungdo wines, each paired with a local snack such as dried squid or pickled omija.
- A sommelier explains the island's volcanic soil and how it affects the flavour of the grapes and berries used in the wines.
- Guests receive a tasting card with tasting notes and a map of the three local wineries that supply the wines.
- The tasting room seats up to 12 people, and the session runs at 2 PM and 5 PM daily from April to October.
- Suitable for adults aged 19 and over; non-alcoholic omija juice is available for designated drivers or those who prefer not to drink.
