Tenerife's mild subtropical weather means warm, sunny conditions for most of the year, with June to September the hottest and busiest stretch. Canarian cooking leans on fresh seafood, goat cheese and papas arrugadas served with mojo sauce, a combination worth trying after a treatment. Aeroplanes carry passengers between the Canary Islands and mainland Spain throughout the week, and boats plus brief flights tie the individual islands together. Spanish is the main language spoken across Tenerife, including in Arona and the surrounding resorts.
