The best time to arrive is later in the evening, once the restaurant side winds down and the bar takes over. Groups, couples and solo visitors all fit the layout, since lounge seating suits shared rounds as easily as a drink alone.
Tenerife forms part of the Canary Islands, where a mild subtropical climate keeps warm, sunny weather through most of the year and June to September brings the hottest, busiest stretch. Canarian cooking centres on fresh seafood, goat cheese and papas arrugadas served with mojo sauce, dishes that sit naturally alongside an evening out. Aeroplanes run regularly between the Canaries and mainland Spain, and travel between the individual islands is handled by boat crossings and brief hops by air. Spanish serves as the everyday tongue across the archipelago, so a few words go a long way when ordering.
