Surf Lessons in Tenerife is a guided surfing course on the island’s north coast, where consistent Atlantic swells create reliable waves for beginners. The lessons take place at Playa de Los Locos, a sandy beach with a gentle break, and are led by certified instructors. Each session covers safety, paddle technique, and wave-catching fundamentals, with all equipment provided.
What to expect
- 2-hour group or private lesson at Playa de Los Locos, with wetsuit, surfboard, and leash included
- Instructors are ISA-certified and maintain a maximum ratio of 8 students per instructor
- Learn to identify rip currents, read wave sets, and perform the pop-up on dry land before entering the water
- Practice catching white-water waves in waist-deep water, with video feedback available for review after the session
- Suitable for ages 8 and up, including non-swimmers who are comfortable in shallow water
- All sessions include a post-lesson debrief with tips on ocean safety and local surf etiquette
