Restaurants & Dining in Magazia is a curated guide to the tavernas and cafes of Magazia, a hilltop village on Paxos. This activity covers the village's traditional Greek eateries, which serve local dishes such as sofrito and pastitsada. Visitors can expect a relaxed meal with views of the Ionian Sea and olive groves.
What to expect
- Visit 3 to 5 family-run tavernas within a 500-metre walk of the village square, each with outdoor seating under grapevines.
- Taste a set menu of Paxiot specialities, including oven-baked lamb with potatoes and local white wine from the island's vineyards.
- Meals last approximately 2 hours, with a starter, main course, and dessert included in the fixed price of 25 euros per person.
- Watch the owner prepare grilled octopus or sardines on a charcoal grill at the edge of the dining terrace.
- Suitable for small groups of up to 8 people, with vegetarian options available on request at each stop.
- End the tour with a complimentary glass of kumquat liqueur at a cafe overlooking the village's 18th-century church.
