Restaurants & Dining in La Lajita is a curated guide to the village's eateries, located along the southeastern coast of Fuerteventura. This activity covers the range of local seafood bars, Canarian tapas spots, and casual terraces near the La Lajita beach and promenade. Visitors can expect fresh catch of the day, traditional papas arrugadas, and ocean views at most venues.
What to expect
- Sample freshly caught cherne or vieja at the seafront kiosks, typically served grilled with mojo sauce.
- Find menus with fixed-price lunch options (menú del día) for around 12-15 euros, including starter, main, dessert, and a drink.
- Watch the sunset from a terrace table at one of the three main restaurants facing the Playa de La Lajita, with direct sightlines to the jetty.
- Try local goat cheese and honey from the nearby Maxorata region, often listed as a starter on traditional Canarian menus.
- Most dining spots operate from 12:00 to 22:00, with peak hours between 13:30 and 15:30 for lunch; dinner service starts at 19:00.
- Suitable for families and couples, with high chairs available at two of the larger establishments and a children's portion of fried fish or chicken nuggets.
