About this event
Tacoronte Farmer's Market (Mercadillo del Agricultor de Tacoronte) has been running since 1981, making it one of the longest-established weekend markets in the Canary Islands. Set along the TF-121 road in Tacoronte, the outdoor market is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 8am to 2pm. Around 25 stalls line the roadside site about 3.5 kilometres from the town centre, in the heart of the Tacoronte-Acentejo wine region. The stalls focus on fresh produce from local Canarian farms: bananas, avocados, mangoes, papayas and seasonal citrus, plus vegetables, herbs and organic products. You'll also find artisan bread and pastries, local honey, traditional cheeses and gofio alongside handmade handicrafts. It's a good spot to pick up ingredients you won't find in a supermarket. The market accepts both cash and card payments. Tacoronte is a small town, so your best bet is to stay in the town centre itself, where you'll be within easy reach of the market and the local wine bars. Try Tacoronte Town Centre for a convenient base with good access to everything. If you'd prefer more accommodation options, the nearby coastal area of El Sauzal is just a short drive away and offers some lovely spots with sea views. El Sauzal makes a relaxed alternative, especially if you plan to explore the wider northeast corner of Tenerife. The market is on the Ctra Tacoronte a Tejina at Km 3.5, about 3.5km from Tacoronte town centre. Follow the TF-121 road towards Tejina and look for the stalls along the roadside. Parking is available near the site. Local buses run along this route on weekends. The market is wheelchair accessible. Find all municipal markets in Tacoronte on our city page, or check the official market website for the latest details. The market opens on Saturdays and Sundays from 8am to 2pm. Getting there earlier in the morning gives you the best choice of fresh produce before popular lines sell out. The 25 stalls sell fresh fruits and vegetables from local Canarian farms, including bananas, avocados and seasonal citrus. You'll also find artisan bread, local honey, cheese, gofio, organic products and traditional Canarian handicrafts. The market is on the Ctra Tacoronte a Tejina road at Km 3.5, about 3.5km outside Tacoronte town centre in northern Tenerife. It's straightforward to reach by car, and parking is available at the site.
