Hostels in Sipadan Water Village are budget dormitory accommodations built on stilts above the clear waters off Sipadan Island, Malaysia. These shared rooms sit within the village's jetty complex, giving guests direct access to house reef snorkelling and dive centre facilities. The hostels offer a lower-cost alternative to the village's private villas while keeping the same marine setting.
What to expect
- Dormitory beds are arranged in shared rooms with basic bunk bedding, shared bathrooms, and no air conditioning, using ceiling fans instead
- Guests receive a daily schedule that includes two guided snorkelling trips to the house reef and one boat transfer to Sipadan Island for shore snorkelling, subject to park permits
- Meals are served three times daily in the communal dining hall, with buffet-style Malaysian and Western dishes included in the bed rate
- The on-site dive centre provides rental gear and certification courses, but hostel guests must book dive packages separately from the dorm fee
- The stilt walkways connect the hostel block to the sun deck and jetty, where sea turtles and reef sharks are visible at high tide
- This option suits solo travellers and budget divers who prioritise location over privacy, as noise from neighbouring rooms and early boat departures is common
