beauty:beast
About
Among Shikoku's spa, wellness centre or massage studios, beauty:beast is a hairdresser at 1 Chome-6-9 桟橋通り Kochi, 781-8010, Japan, on the island's southern coast.
A flawless 5 out of 5 from 31 reviews marks the salon out, a small but consistent body of feedback. That base suggests a compact studio with a loyal local following rather than a high-volume operation. Hairdressing is the focus, covering cuts, colour and styling rather than spa treatments. Booking ahead is the sensible approach, since a small salon works to a scheduled diary and walk-ins are harder to fit in.
Kochi sits within reach of Matsuyama, Takamatsu and Tokushima for anyone touring the island. The salon publishes its own website at https://bap-holdings.co.jp/salon/sanbashi/, where its work and services are set out. Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples stand throughout Japan, sometimes within the same grounds, so a day around Kochi can pair an appointment with a quiet visit.
Typhoons approach Japan mainly between August and September, most often striking the southern islands, so travel plans around Shikoku are worth timing with that in mind. Japanese has polite and honorific registers, and regional dialects differ noticeably in vocabulary and pitch, so a few polite phrases go a long way. Uwajima and Shimanto lie further along the coast for travellers extending a stay beyond the city.
