Italy's islands enjoy a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild, wetter winters, and the peak season runs June-September. Cooking across the region leans on seafood, handmade pasta, olive oil, and local wines. Flights, ferries, and hydrofoils connect the islands to the mainland, while Italian is the main language spoken. Barumini sits inland, so a visit pairs a pub evening with the island's wider routes.
