Rawa Island Hotels & Resorts is a collection of beachfront accommodations on Rawa Island, off Malaysia's east coast. The island is a 30-minute boat ride from Mersing Jetty, with resorts offering chalets, dormitories, and private villas. Coral reefs and clear water are directly accessible from the shore, and the island is a designated marine park.
What to expect
- Boat transfer from Mersing Jetty to the resort takes 30 minutes, with scheduled departures at 9:00 AM and 12:30 PM daily.
- Accommodation options include air-conditioned chalets with private bathrooms, sea-view villas, and budget dormitory beds for up to 8 guests.
- Meals are served buffet-style three times a day at the resort's open-air restaurant, with seafood and Malay dishes as staples.
- Snorkelling gear is included in the room rate, and the house reef is within 10 metres of the beach, with turtles and clownfish commonly sighted.
- Guided jungle trekking to the island's 300-metre summit takes 45 minutes one way, offering views of the surrounding marine park.
- The resort's jetty is the only structure on the island's west side, and the beach is shared with a single other resort, keeping visitor numbers low.
