Coffee Shops in Vivara is a guided coffee-tasting activity located on the island of Vivara, a nature reserve connected to Procida by a bridge. Participants walk through the island's Mediterranean scrubland to a restored historic watchtower where local roasters serve espresso and filter brews. The session pairs each coffee with a short explanation of the island's maritime history and its former role as a royal hunting ground.
What to expect
- The activity lasts 90 minutes and includes a 1.5-kilometre guided walk from the Procida bridge to the tower
- Tastings cover three single-origin beans, each served as both espresso and pour-over, with a printed flavour chart
- You will see the remains of a 16th-century Aragonese tower and the abandoned fishing village of Vivara
- The session is limited to 12 participants and suits adults interested in coffee brewing methods or island ecology
- Each tasting includes a small ceramic cup to keep, fired by a Procida artisan
- The walk includes two shaded rest stops with views over the Tyrrhenian Sea toward Ischia
