About this experience

Hotels & Resorts in Vallee de Mai is a curated accommodation option set within the UNESCO-listed Vallee de Mai forest on Praslin, Seychelles. The property places guests within walking distance of the legendary Coco de Mer palm groves and the island's endemic black parrot habitat. Rooms are designed for travellers seeking direct access to the reserve's guided nature trails and the nearby Anse Volbert beach.

What to expect

Check-in includes a printed map of the Vallee de Mai's 2.5-kilometre marked trail network, which loops past the Coco de Mer palms and the ranger station.
Guests receive a complimentary guided dawn tour at 7:30 AM, when the black parrots are most active near the reserve's canopy.
The on-site restaurant serves a daily Creole buffet with grilled fish, breadfruit chips, and palm heart salad, using ingredients sourced from Praslin farms.
Each room features a private veranda facing the forest edge, with mosquito netting and ceiling fans; no air conditioning is installed to preserve the natural ambience.
The resort provides a shuttle to Anse Lazio beach at 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, with return pickups at 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM, for guests who want to swim.
The property suits independent travellers and couples who prefer a quiet base over beachfront nightlife, with a 10-minute walk to the Vallee de Mai entrance gate.
