Campsites in Anse Volbert are a set of designated camping areas along the sandy shore of Praslin Island's main beach. These sites place visitors directly behind the casuarina trees lining the bay, with basic facilities such as shared toilets and cold-water showers. The location provides immediate access to the calm, shallow waters of Anse Volbert for swimming and snorkelling.
What to expect
- Pitch your tent on a grassy plot within 50 metres of the water's edge, with the beach's white sand and granite boulders visible from your tent door.
- Each site includes a flat tent area, a picnic table, and access to a communal cooking shelter with a gas stove and sink.
- Expect to share the camping ground with a small number of other campers, typically fewer than ten tents, during peak season from December to April.
- A 10-minute walk north along the beach leads to the local bakery and small grocery shops, where you can buy fresh bread, fruit, and drinking water.
- The campsite is suitable for self-sufficient travellers with their own camping gear, as no tents or sleeping equipment are provided on site.
- Nightly rates are around 150 Seychellois rupees per person, payable in cash to the site manager who visits each evening.
