Artisan Markets in Russian Bay is a weekly open-air market held in the harbour village of Poros, on the Argolic Gulf. It gathers local potters, weavers, and food producers selling handmade ceramics, olive oil, and honey directly from their stalls. The market runs every Saturday morning from 9am to 2pm along the waterfront promenade.
What to expect
- Browse 25+ stalls of handmade ceramics, woven textiles, and carved wooden utensils from Poros and nearby Troezenia villages
- Taste and buy cold-pressed olive oil, thyme honey, and sun-dried tomatoes, all produced within 10 km of the bay
- Watch a live pottery demonstration at the central stall, where a local artisan shapes clay using a foot-powered wheel
- Meet the beekeeper from Mount Aderes who explains how to distinguish raw honey from blended supermarket varieties
- Suitable for slow-paced visitors; allow 60–90 minutes to walk the full row of stalls and chat with vendors
- Cash-only transactions; bring small denominations as most stalls do not accept cards
