Diving & Snorkeling in Ponza Porto is a guided underwater excursion based at the harbour of Ponza, the main port of the Pontine island. The activity provides access to the island's rocky reefs, seagrass meadows, and clear Tyrrhenian waters. Participants explore sites reachable by boat from the port, with equipment and a local guide included.

What to expect

The excursion lasts approximately 3 hours, including a 20-minute boat transfer from Ponza Porto to dive sites like Cala Fonte or the Chiaia di Luna cliffs.
Full scuba gear (BCD, regulator, wetsuit, mask, fins) and an air tank are included; snorkellers receive mask, snorkel, fins, and a buoyancy aid.
Divers descend to depths of 6 to 18 metres, where they see gorgonian corals, octopus, moray eels, and occasional groupers among volcanic rock formations.
Snorkellers stay at the surface over shallow seagrass beds (Posidonia oceanica), which shelter juvenile fish, sea stars, and cuttlefish.
The activity suits certified divers (Open Water or higher) and confident swimmers; a dive computer and dive log are required for divers.
