Phuket swings between two monsoon systems, and the Andaman side of the island tends to stay driest from about November to April. Seafood, curries, noodles and tropical fruit form the backbone of what is eaten on Thailand's islands, and all of it turns up across Phuket. The main language is Thai, with English common in tourist areas. Flights, ferries and speedboats link Thailand's islands to the mainland, so reaching Phuket is straightforward for visitors booking treatments at Mookda Spa.
