Restaurants & Dining in Saba is the collective culinary scene across the island’s four villages, offering a mix of Creole, Caribbean, and international cuisine in small, family-run establishments. The island’s dining options range from casual beachside bars in The Bottom to upscale eateries in Windwardside, all sourcing local seafood and produce. Meals typically feature fresh lionfish, goat stew, and Saban lobster, served with homemade hot sauces and locally brewed beer.
What to expect
- Most restaurants seat fewer than 30 guests, so reservations are required for dinner service, which typically runs from 6pm to 9pm.
- Diners can expect a fixed menu or daily specials written on chalkboards, with mains priced between $20 and $45 USD.
- Several venues offer open-air terraces with views of Mount Scenery or the Caribbean Sea, and most accept cash only.
- Local dishes include conch fritters, pumpkin soup, and Johnny cakes, often paired with Saba Spice, a cinnamon-and-clove rum liqueur.
- The dining scene suits couples and small groups seeking quiet, unhurried meals; no fast food or chain restaurants exist on the island.
- Friday and Saturday evenings feature live steel pan or acoustic guitar music at two or three venues, with seating on a first-come basis after 8pm.
