Horseback Riding in Klong Son is a guided trail ride through the rural eastern coast of Koh Yao Yai, starting from the Klong Son village area. The route follows dirt tracks between rubber plantations and rice paddies, with views across Phang Nga Bay to the limestone karsts of the mainland. Riders are matched with gentle, well-trained horses and accompanied by local guides throughout the session.
What to expect
- Ride lasts 1.5 hours, including a 10-minute safety briefing and mounting assistance.
- Each rider receives a helmet, and a lead rope is attached to the horse for beginners.
- The trail passes through working rubber groves and open fields where water buffalo graze.
- At the halfway point, the group stops at a beach clearing for a 5-minute rest and photo opportunity.
- Suitable for first-time riders and children aged 8 and above, with a maximum weight limit of 90 kilograms.
- The ride concludes back at the stable, where fresh coconut water is offered to each participant.
